The season of 2009 was once again badly affected by the weather, losing almost all of July to it. This had a knock on affect on the Casuals performance in the League, often spending several days between games and playing only 6 from 11. In the end, finishing 4th again was a fair result given the overall rise in standard of the teams within the Willow league now.

The Shield competition was a wash out, most teams playing only 2 games. The Casuals won one, lost one, finishing 4th. There were however, some excellent games both within the league and the sunday friendlies.[2009 results and match reports].

Due to increased numbers of 'youth' players showing an interest in becoming a 'Casual' - the committee have asked for advice from the WCA - the result of which is that under 18s are not able to play for the Casuals due to the responsibility of duty of care.[youth policy]
